Easter and Mother’s Day Weekend Brunch Coming to Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Whispering Canyon Cafe will be offering a scrumptious brunch during Easter and Mother’s Day weekends.

The delicious “Holiday Brunch-B-Q Menu” will include the All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Brunch Skillet, featuring mini pastries, house-made buttermilk-cheddar biscuits with sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, hickory-smoked bacon, sausage, smoked salmon and pulled pork, Mickey Mouse waffles, and green asparagus with Hollandaise sauce.

Plant-based options are available upon request.

A selection of brunch cocktails, juices, and press pot coffee will be available as well.

Dates:

  • Easter Weekend dates: Saturday, April 3rd and Sunday, April 4th
  • Mother’s Day Weekend dates: Saturday, May 8th and Sunday, May 9th

The price for this brunch is $25 for adults and $14 for children ages 3-9.

Walt Disney Imagineering Files Theatrical Lighting Permit for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser

Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a new permit for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, the upcoming interactive hotel near Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The permit is for “theatrical lighting and controls” and the contractor is Candela Controls, Inc. Candela Controls, Inc. specializes in lighting and worked on both the Coca-Cola store and Morimoto Asia in Disney Springs.

Of course, the Starcruiser will include plenty of entertainment from characters who will interact with guests, including an encounter with Kylo Ren and the First Order when they invade the vessel.

The concept art and storyline for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser definitely promise beautiful theatrical lighting and we can’t wait to see what Candela Controls does. 

Walt Disney Imagineering Files Permit For Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Show Sets

A second permit for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser was made available, this one for show sets.

The permit from Walt Disney Imagineering calls for “fabrication and installation of show sets.” The contractor is Adirondack Scenic, Inc., which has worked on other Disney projects including Belle’s Castle and the Casey Jr. Splash and Soak in Magic Kingdom.

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser promises exciting, interactive scenes connecting to the storyline of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and involving characters from Star Wars, including an attack from Kylo Ren and the First Order.

Walt Disney World is Hiring a Hotel Services Director for Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser

The Walt Disney Company is hiring a Hotel Services Director for the brand new Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Hotel at Walt Disney World. A job listing was posted today on disneycareers.com. The new immersive resort is set to open sometime this year, at least last we heard.

The perfect candidate is a seasoned hotelier with at least 10 years of progressive leadership experience.

Job Summary:

Disney is searching for a seasoned hotelier with senior leadership hospitality experience on land or at sea to serve as Hotel Services Director for our new Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser. As a Hotel Services Director you will lead and implement a unique immersive two-night experience aligned with our Star Wars franchise. A passion for bringing ideas to life, creativity, value a non-traditional work environment, and balance traditional hotel experience with immersive entertainment are all important traits you will need to have to be successful in this role. If selected, you will report to the Regional General Manager – Hotel Operations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in entertainment and hospitality in a resort or cruise environment

As a part of our passionate team, you would be expected to observe Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and other state and local traffic laws, and meet Department of Transportation Physical Standards.

A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is not necessary to be considered for the Transportation Bus Driver role, but will be required if hired into the role. If selected, you will receive paid training to obtain your CDL and the cost of the CDL will be reimbursed by the company. Candidates must obtain/have a valid Florida Driver’s License to begin the CDL process.
