runDisney 2024 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend Start & Finish Locations Released

The start and finish lines for the runDisney 2024 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend have been released, revealing a major move for runners from past years’ races.

Previously, runners would start and finish their races by the Disneyland Hotel, as notated by our red star on the left of this map.

Now, however, most races will start and finish at or near Disney Way, which is quite far from all three of Disneyland Resort’s hotels. The new start/finish line is marked by a blue and gold star on the right of this map.

Here are the official start and finish locations for each of the 2024 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend races:

  • Disneyland 5K – Disneyland Park (Start)
  • Disneyland 10K – Disney Way (Start/Finish)
  • runDisney Kids Races – Near Disney Way (Start/Finish)
  • Disneyland Half Marathon – Disney Way (Start/Finish)

There is no word on if a shuttle or some other form of transportation will be available for guests to take back to their Disney resort hotel once they finish their races.

The 2024 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend takes place January 11-14, 2024. You can take a look at the finisher medals for each of the races here.

Projection Mapping Added to Muppet*Vision 3D at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Muppet*Vision 3D has unexpectedly received an update. The attraction opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 1991 and, beyond refurbishments, has been largely unchanged since then. Disney has used modern technology to enhance a scene in the 32-year-old show with projection mapping.

When Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker create Waldo C. Graphic, and Waldo begins going wild, he splits into multiples and declares, “Now I can start my own football team!” During this sequence, new projection mapping shows dozens of Waldos flying across the walls.

Beaker and Bunsen then use a vacuum to suck up all the Waldos (except one who escapes).

You may be thinking that this effect isn’t new. Well before now, the attraction used GOBOs to put Waldos on the walls — these were essentially moving stencils that projected otherwise static images. With the new projection mapping, each Waldo appears to be doing his own thing, and they stand out more clearly.

Woman Suing Disney After Falling Off 3-Foot-Drop on Test Track at EPCOT

An Orange County woman is suing Disney after she said she fell and hurt herself during a ride evacuation at Test Track this year.

Karen Imbrogno filed the lawsuit against the theme park company this week and is seeking more than $50,000.

According to her complaint, Imbrogno was at EPCOT on St. Patrick’s Day and riding Test Track when the attraction broke down.

“The ride malfunctioned and shut down in the middle,” the lawsuit said.

On the intercom, a Disney Cast Member told riders they had to exit the attraction. A second Disney Cast Member led Imbrogno away. As Imbrogno followed, “ she fell into a three foot dropoff,” the lawsuit said.

Imbrogno had a “permanent injury,” the lawsuit said without detailing exactly how she got hurt.

It’s at least the second lawsuit recently involving a Disney World visitor who claimed to be hurt when a ride had problems.

Earlier in September, WDWNT reported a child from New Jersey suffered whiplash when Peter Pan’s Flight unexpectedly stopped and then violently restarted again at the Magic Kingdom. The child’s father is now suing Disney.
