Complimentary Wi-Fi on Select WDW Buses

Guests to Walt Disney World that are low on data can now rejoice as Wi-Fi has been enabled on Walt Disney World buses. This confirms a rumor that we reported about earlier this year that the new buses would have free Wi-Fi.

Stickers have been added on the windows of one of the new character-wrapped buses. The Wi-Fi network is “Disney Transport Guest” and is separate from the other networks at Walt Disney World, so your phone will not automatically connect.

Speeds on the bus Wi-Fi network were acceptable, but not incredibly fast – good for general browsing, but not great for uploading photos or video chats.

The Next New Disney Bus

The latest addition to the Disney Transportation family is none other than the royal purple Figment bus!

The design features Figment with a paintbrush, painting a rainbow all across the Walt Disney World skies.

Similar to the buses featuring the sensational six, these buses have those new blue seats and laminate floors throughout. Some of the buses will also have USB charging ports conveniently located between seats, so you can re-charge your devices and not miss a moment of capturing and sharing your Disney vacation memories.

You can check out even more photos of the recent “The Lion King” bus here, as well as the “Monsters, Inc.” bus here! Other additions to the Disney character buses include Dumbo as well as Rocket and Groot from “Guardians of the Galaxy”!

Video of Tree of Life For The Holidays

We previously announced that for the first time Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World would offer themed holiday decorations within each land in the park. There will also be special additions to the Tree of Life.

According to Disney Parks Blog, ” the Tree of Life awakens with a series of wintry tales, each told in a unique artistic style and complemented by a familiar and heartwarming holiday-inspired musical score. ” The Disney Parks Live Entertainment team has been working on this for months and have shared a video look at what we can expect.

These special awakenings that are planned for the season are still in development and currently planned to officially debut on November 8th, 2019.

Sneak Peek of Holiday Decorations at Animal Kingdom

We previously shared that Disney’s Animal Kingdom would have new festive holiday decorations in every land in the theme park. Thanks to Disney Parks Blog, we have a video look at some of the great things that we can expect with these new holiday offerings in Walt Disney World. Check out this great video below:

“Guests visiting Discovery Island will find themselves in the midst of a celebration of winter, hand-crafted by the eclectic community of artists who reside here. The village is filled with sparkling white holiday decorations, and animal-inspired luminaries line the rooftops. And during the day, Discovery Island will spring to life with a holiday gathering of winter animals with artisan-sculpted puppets, including reindeer, foxes, polar bears, penguins and more.”

During the evening, The Tree of Life will feature a series of wintry tales and amazing music for guests to enjoy.

Over in Asia, guests will see the decorations from the residents of Anandapur to celebrate Diwali, the holiday festival of lights in India. There will be flowers, lanterns and more to illuminate the area.

Africa will have holiday decor and DinoLand, U.S.A. will feature holiday sounds from the Truck-O-Saurus. There will also be characters in their holiday outfits, too!

Pandora – The World of Avatar will also feature “a display of kitschy holiday décor at Pongu Pongu that combines vintage pieces from Earth with items handcrafted from materials indigenous to Pandora.”

Up! A Great Bird Adventure gets UPdated

Since debuting in April of 2018, “UP! A Great Bird Adventure” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom has been met with groans from park guests. The original version of the show in Asia lasted only 5 months before being completely rewritten in September of 2018 to be more comedic. Needless to say, it didn’t improve guest feedback much. Fast forward one year, and the show has been heavily altered once again during a recent short hiatus.

In the latest update, the show has been “dumbed-down” a bit, with the cultured Anandapur resident acting as host now replaced with a bumbling, comedic Wilderness Explorers Troop Leader. Dug and Russell from Disney-PIXAR’s UP are still prominently featured in the show.

The show still features the expert bird trainers of Disney’s Animal Kingdom (and the beloved avian cast), but is probably now more tonally similar to the original Flights of Wonder.
