Fireworks Are BACK!

What could make this summer even better? How about fireworks! Both Disney World and Disneyland guests can start enjoying the magic of fireworks in July.

Key highlights:

  • July 1 marks the start of nightly fireworks at Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT at Walt Disney World Resort with both “Happily Ever After” and “EPCOT Forever”
  • July 4 marks the return of “Mickey’s Mix Magic” nightly at Disneyland Park at the Disneyland Resort

Since 1957 guests visiting have enjoyed fireworks that are the perfect way to end the evening at a Disney park.

Masks Now Optional At Most Places For Vaccinated Guests at Walt Disney World

Yesterday, June 15, Walt Disney World officially updated their website with the new face covering policy. Masks are no longer required for vaccinated guests except while on Disney transportation. Check out updated policy, including an updated chart for fully vaccinated guests vs. guests who are not fully vaccinated, below.

Face Coverings: While face coverings are required for all Guests while in Disney buses, monorail and Disney Skyliner, they are now optional in most areas for Guests who are fully vaccinated. While we do not require proof of vaccination, we expect Guests who are not fully vaccinated to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations and upon entering and throughout all attractions and transportation. All face coverings (whether disposable or reusable) should:

  • – Be made with at least 2 layers of breathable material
  • – Fully cover the nose and mouth and secure under the chin
  • – Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
  • – Be secured with ties or ear loops and allow the Guest to remain hands-free

Face coverings should not contain valves, mesh material or holes. Costume masks are not considered appropriate and are prohibited from being worn, in alignment with our existing rules. Face coverings may have an integrated transparent plastic panel to aid in viewing the wearer’s mouth. These face coverings should:

  • – Be a fabric face covering featuring a solid plastic panel containing no openings that is attached to the fabric on all sides using tight knit stitching
  • – Meet all face covering requirements listed above

The website goes on to share updated chart for fully vaccinated guests vs. guests who are not fully vaccinated:

We can’t believe the day has actually arrived! We’ll keep you posted as Disney continues to make updates to their policies with CDC and local health official guidelines in mind.

Weeks-Old Zebra Foal Returns to Kilimanjaro Safaris Savanna

The Hartmann’s mountain zebra foal born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom last month is back on the Kilimanjaro Safaris savanna.

Keepers named the zebra foal ‘Dash’ because of his “spunky spirit” and a stripe on his shoulder identical to one on his mother. Some lucky guests got to see mom Heidi give birth to Dash while riding Kilimanjaro Safaris in May.

Dash and his older sister Asha were both born as part of the Species Survival Plan program, which is overseen by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The program ensures responsible breeding and genetic diversity of hundreds of animal species.
