At the height of spooky season, Disney Cruise Line has revealed the Haunted Mansion Parlor, an all-new bar inspired by the iconic Disney Parks attraction, The Haunted Mansion. Foolish mortals will sip spirited craft cocktails among 999 happy haunts for the first time inside this new venue on board the Disney Treasure when it sets sail in December 2024. I had a chance to learn about the upcoming bar with Imagineers and get a look at concept art and new merchandise.
The Backstory of Haunted Mansion Parlor
The one-of-a-kind experience will invite guests to partake in the next chapter of the Haunted Mansion, focused on the story of a jovial captain who entered the ghostly realm after a disastrous dinner with his beloved fiancé. A custom musical arrangement inspired by the attraction’s original score arranged and adapted by composer Shruti Kumar and Walt Disney Imagineering will set the stage for an ever-escalating anthology of illusions that immerses guests into the mysterious lore of the Haunted Mansion.
Haunted Mansion Inspiration
Legendary characters from Haunted Mansion attractions at Disney Parks around the world, as well as new seafaring arrivals, will come out to socialize in mysterious ways throughout the experience. The venue will follow the nostalgic art style of the original 1969 Disney Parks classic, and true to the original attraction, the Haunted Mansion Parlor will blend humor with Disney’s own distinct brand of spooky storytelling.
Design Elements
The design of the Haunted Mansion Parlor will be reminiscent of a first-class drawing room from the classic cruise liners of the golden age, invoking inspiration from the original Haunted Mansion with a nautical twist. The lounge will include tributes to the Disney Parks attractions, from the iconic purple wallpaper framed by wooden finishes to a mantel clock atop an inviting fireplace to a distinctive purple armchair tucked in the corner. Guests will also encounter a few new ghoulish faces in a portrait gallery depicting the Disney Treasure’s own ghostly residents.
Deliciously Chilling Drinks
At the Haunted Mansion Parlor, guests will sample from a selection of ghostly cocktails that capture the spirit of the famed theme park attraction, The Haunted Mansion.
Blood orange and sour cherry flavors will harmonize in a shimmering zero-proof cocktail served in a specialty mug aptly titled, Sympathetic Libations. Click here for the recipe.
The Ghoulish Delight will be an ube-flavored treat that everyone will be able to enjoy. The drink, with hints of sweetness and nuttiness, will incorporate decadent ube fudge, oat milk and tapioca pearls in a purple concoction garnished with a gummy eyeball and ube glitter. Click here for the recipe.
A spooky twist on a classic margarita, presented to guests amidst a swirl of flavored smoke, will be another signature drink at the Haunted Mansion Parlor. Topped with a lemon salt foam, this tequila-based cocktail will contain a secret message, only to be revealed by black light. Click here for the recipe.
Mysterious Merchandise
The new bar venue will introduce an exclusive array of haunted homewares and spooky souvenirs to the shops onboard the Disney Treasure.
The Haunted Mansion Parlor Music Box will be a keepsake inspired by the eerie music box that will play a melodic soundtrack inside the Haunted Mansion Parlor. As the rumors go, this mysterious box belonged to the captain’s bride-to-be and only opens in the presence of malevolent spirits.
Honoring the memorable grandfather clock seen in the original Disney Parks attraction, the Haunted Parlor Mantle Clock will loom over the fireplace inside the venue, instigating mysterious happenings when it strikes 13. As a part of the new merchandise collection, Disney Cruise Line guests will be able to bring home their very own mantle clock, just like the one from the parlor.
Featuring the same octopus design from the bar’s entrance onboard the Disney Treasure, the Haunted Mansion Parlor Sculpted Mug will depict an aura of intrigue and will be accented with a variety of sea life, including a hidden Mickey Mouse-shaped barnacle.
The Haunted Mansion Parlor Mirror will allow guests to take home a piece of the magic, offering a ghoulish surprise to unsuspecting users when the hitchhiking ghosts mysteriously appear.
In a shocking incident at the EPCOT theme park, Disney fans stood frozen in disbelief as they witnessed a Guest engage in a dangerous act of recklessness. The scene unfolded when a visitor took a daring leap off one of the bridges, defying the Park’s safety protocols and endangering their own safety.
The incident, which unfolded in front of a crowd of onlookers, sent shockwaves throughout social media after it was posted on TikTok earlier today by a fellow Guest. Onlookers were left both horrified and concerned for the well-being of the individual involved at this Disney Park. The reckless act put themselves at risk and burdened the Park’s Cast Members and security personnel, who were likely called upon to handle the situation swiftly and efficiently.
for all Guests’ safety while on a Disney vacation or visit. Disney theme parks have strict guidelines to ensure every Disney fan’s well-being and maintain a secure and enjoyable environment for everyone. From height requirements on rides to designated walkways and barriers, these rules are intended to prevent accidents and keep Guests out of harm’s way.
Engaging in dangerous behavior compromises the safety of the individual involved and disrupts the experience for other Guests who come to the Walt Disney World Resort seeking a magical and unforgettable experience. It is unfortunate that a few Guests choose to ignore these rules and engage in reckless activities, potentially ruining the joy and excitement that Disney Parks are known for.
In a shocking video uploaded to TikTok, you can see just how this incident went down. The video shows one Guest standing on the edge of a bridge in EPCOT, debating whether or not to jump. Some people in the background can be heard yelling several things, such as “GO,” and “Security is on the way.”
A second part of the video shows the Guest in question swimming out of the water after making their jump. They climb over a Gondola and finally make it onto shore.
Dozens of comments expressing shock and concern over the situation were posted underneath the video. After all, the water at EPCOT is not known for being clean. In addition, it is highly likely that this Guest was escorted off of Disney property by a Cast Member or Disney security following the incident. Disney takes the safety of their Guests very seriously, and reckless behavior like this is hardly ever tolerated.
This situation serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of adhering to Disney Resort rules and regulations, as well as the consequences that can arise from reckless behavior. By maintaining a respectful and responsible attitude, Disney Guests can ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for themselves and others, enabling the magic of Disney to truly come to life.
Preparation for the holidays is already in high gear at Walt Disney World as The Most Magical Place On Earth gets ready to celebrate “the most wonderful time of year.” While planning and preliminaries culminate in the fall, many Cast Members spend months – sometimes a full year – getting ready to spread seasonal cheer. Here is a first look at what guests can expect as they celebrate the 2023 holiday season, which begins at Walt Disney World on November 11, 2023.
Disney Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
The long anticipated, glam holiday party Disney Jollywood Nights is almost here. This new separately ticketed event is a swanky Hollywood bash filled with merriment, music, and spirited good times. It will take place on select nights beginning November 11 to December 20.
Sunset Seasons Greetings at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Hollywood Studios will also once again present Sunset Seasons Greetings nightly throughout the season. Each evening The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is magically transformed into an array of holiday scenes as snow falls along Sunset Boulevard.

Fractal Frenzy: NEW Frozen Holiday Surprise at Magic Kingdom Park
At Magic Kingdom Park, “Frozen” friends from Arendelle are conjuring up something remarkable for the holidays. The new Frozen Holiday Surprise brings together Olaf and more than 100 of his Snowgie siblings who attempt to add festive decor to Cinderella Castle. With Anna and Kristoff at her side, Queen Elsa adds sparkling finishing touches, transforming the castle into a shimmering crystallized palace – a look that will remain throughout each evening.
Bringing this new spectacle to life is no small feat, as lighting designers, video technicians, composers, and a full orchestra worked together to create this enchanting new entertainment experience.
Debuting November 7, “Frozen Holiday Surprise” will occur nightly during the holiday season.
Families and kids of all ages can also enjoy Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Now in its 40th year, this specially ticketed event has become a holiday tradition for many. Featuring a dazzling parade, fireworks, complimentary sweet treats and so much more, it’s warm-hearted, family-friendly fun at Magic Kingdom on 25 select nights November 9-Dec. 22.
Delicious Doings: EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays
For an international holiday flavor, EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, presented by AdventHealth is the place to be. The stage is set with spectacular decor around every corner, and entertainment fills the air, from celebrity narrators reciting the Christmas story each night to time-honored traditions from countries around the world.
And no holiday celebration would be complete without tasty treats. The festival culinary team has been hard at work for nearly a year, dreaming up the menu and testing new recipes. More than 15 Holiday Kitchens will celebrate the diversity of holiday traditions with comfort foods that inspire warm memories.
Because ensuring a delicious encounter with every bite is top of mind for the team, thorough testing is imperative before massive production begins. How massive? The culinary team has historically baked more than 250,000 cookies in just five weeks for the event’s signature Holiday Cookie Stroll.
This year will bring several “firsts” to the festival. Luminous the Symphony of Us is an all-new fireworks-and-laser spectacular that will debut on December 5, 2023. And, with EPCOT being home to The Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary celebration, guests will find beautiful holiday decor at the park entrance commemorating the Disney100 celebration.
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays begins November 24.
As The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) celebrates its 30th anniversary, the Walt Disney Company makes a super exciting announcement: Walt Disney World Resort is finally receiving an attraction straight out of Halloween Town.
When it first debuted, The Nightmare Before Christmas wasn’t just a film, it was revolutionary. The full-length stop-motion animated film brought attention to the medium as an art form and helped begin a trend of similarly animated movies.
The film was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects and was the first animated movie to receive this nomination. While it understandably lost the Academy Award to Jurassic Park (1993), the nomination was still historical.
The Nightmare Before Christmas was also praised for its whimsically dark art style, its iconic soundtrack (thanks to the genius of Danny Elfman), and its memorable characters.
Despite these praises, the Walt Disney Pictures film was only considered a humble success at the box office. Since then, however, the movie has earned a huge cult following, and the film is still as culturally relevant as ever, even 30 years later.
Although the spooky movie may be considered an unusual choice for Walt Disney Pictures, the Walt Disney Company has recognized the popularity of the film, and The Nightmare Before Christmas‘s presence in Disneyland and Walt Disney World is especially noticeable around the holidays.
In Disneyland Resort, specifically, The Nightmare Before Christmas is so beloved that it receives its own attraction. Once a year since 2001, the Haunted Mansion attraction is transformed into Haunted Mansion Holiday.
Instead of touring the Haunted Mansion in an iconic doom buggy, guests rewatch the story of Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, as he takes over for Santa Claus in this Christmas overlay.
This attraction is incredibly popular, and Walt Disney World locals have been begging the Walt Disney Company for something similar for over 20 years now. Finally, it seems that the Walt Disney Company has finally heard fans’ prayers.
Over in Hollywood Studios, Disney World is offering a brand new separately ticketed event for the holidays: Disney Jollywood Nights, which will run on select nights from November 11 to December 20.
During this special event, the theme park will offer new attractions, entertainment, and rare character sightings. The “What’s This? Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along” attraction will offer all three.
Disney writes:
Enter a dreamlike adventure in The Hyperion Theater where Jack Skellington takes us on an ethereal exploration of “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Sing along to beloved songs from the iconic film and discover peculiar magic in unexpected places. Along the way, you’ll conquer Oogie Boogie and be encouraged to follow your curiosity.
This sing-along experience can be found in Hollywood Studios’ Hyperion Theater during Disney Jollywood Nights. Finally, guests visiting Walt Disney World can experience a Nightmare Before Christmas attraction!
