‘The Simpsons’ May Finally Be Heading to The Disney Parks

At Universal Studios, Guests will find tons of their favorite tv and movie franchises, ranging from Jurassic Park to Nintendo. This collection of intellectual property will only increase with the addition of Epic Universe in Orlando. Epic Universe will act as the third theme park at the Universal Orlando Resort and is set to feature a ton of new adventures for Guests to enjoy.

Among the new offerings will be a new version of SUPER NINTENDO WORLD featuring Mario, Princess Peach, Bowser, and all your Nintendo favorites. There’s also rumored to be a land centered on the How to Train Your Dragon film franchise.

However, one iconic franchise still calls the Universal Studios Parks its home, for now, that is.

The Simpsons Ride can be found at the Universal Orlando Resort as well as the Universal Studios Hollywood Resort and is essentially an exact copy on both coasts. It features the essential cast of the legendary animated series, with Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie attempting to escape the clutches of Sideshow Bob.

Both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Florida at Universal Orlando Resort are home to many of the same iconic attractions anyway, including one infamous cartoon family.

With Disney purchasing 20th Century Fox, the company now owns The Simpsons, making us wonder about the future of this iconic yellow family at the Universal theme parks. The version of the ride found at Universal Studios Hollywood was closed unexpectedly for weeks and also disappeared from the Park map, indicating Universal may be getting ready to lose this franchise.

However, nothing official has been stated regarding The Simpsons at Universal or Disney. But the possibility of seeing the lovable yellow family at the Disney Resorts is looking good.

A new statement from Walt Disney Company CFO Christine McCarthy suggests that titles like The Simpsons may be headed to the Disney Parks, eventually. The CFO stated that “consumer data” from Disney+, Disney’s streaming service, will be used to “better inform creatives and Imagineers” when it comes to further theme park developments.

When looking at the data, The Simpsons ranks as one of the most popular titles on the streaming platform:

While this is far from an official formation, we would not be surprised to start seeing The Simpsons brand have more representation inside the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts. The data does not lie, The Simpsons is incredibly popular to stream, as are other series like The Mandalorian, Bluey, and Modern Family.

The show has been running steadily since 1989, and with more seasons on the way, it would make a lot of sense for Disney to embrace this essential American family.

New Details Emerge After Bloody Brawl at Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom made headlines on May 16, 2023 but not for the rides, the food, or the parades. Guests were misbehaving…again. This is becoming an all too common occurrence. It had gotten so bad that Walt Disney World even updated its website, asking guests to behave and warning them of severe consequences if they do not. It seems not everyone got the memo.

A fight broke out between two families in front of the train station near the front entrance. Soon after it occurred, and at the time, there wasn’t a lot of information to go on. We now know more about the knock-down drag-out and the motivations behind it. The altercation began over a photo. You read that right—a photo.

Sheriff’s Deputies say that the fight began around 2:30 pm when one family (Family A) wanted to take a photo with the Disney100 sign commemorating the Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary. The only problem? Another family (Family B) happened to be standing in the way. A member of Family A asked Family B to move so they could take their photo, which didn’t sit well with Family B.

A member of Family B punched a member of Family A in the face. Then more members of Family B jumped in, and chaos ensued. What began as a simple request turned into an all-out brawl. Family B was substantially larger than Family A and did not hold back. They ganged up on the smaller group, and the punches kept flying.

Official reports say that at least one person was injured in the melee but declined to press charges. That individual was treated on the scene after the fight ended. Two others were escorted out of the park by security.

Bystanders recorded the fight and uploaded it almost immediately to social media, where it quickly went viral. Fox35 managed to obtain one of the bystander videos, which can be seen here:

The fight at Magic Kingdom is not the first violent disagreement to occur in a Disney Park, and unfortunately, it isn’t likely to be the last.

Disney Guest Jumps Off Boat, Requires Police Escort to Safety

Walt Disney World Resort is the “most magical place on earth,” but Guest behavior can certainly be questionable at times.

Walt Disney World is known as “The Most Magical Place on Earth.” Disney World is home to four theme parks Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Each Disney Park includes something for Guests of all ages to experience. Disney World is also home to two water parks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.

Disney World is one of the most visited theme park in the world seeing thousands of Guests daily. With this amount of traffic heading to Disney Parks some Guests tend to get out of control. Cast Members have been seen fighting, using the bathroom in random locations, in restricted areas, and much more.

Walt Disney World Resort is surrounded by swamps, marshland causing wildlife to enter the Parks. Disney World Guests have spotted raccoons, rats, birds, snakes, alligators, and many more wild animals inside the Parks.

TikTok star known as @Taraswrld was escorted back to land by the police after she and her family rented a boat on Disney’s lake, Seven Seas Lagoon. TikToker Tara decided to jump into the water, ignoring Disney’s rules about not swimming in the lake. One may think it is a lake, and Guests should be able to enjoy it, but there are reasons that these rules are in place.

Sadly on June 14, 2016, a 2-year-old old boy named Lane Graves was attacked and killed by a gator. The child was playing near the Seven Seas Lagoon water at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort when an alligator emerged and pulled him into the water. After this incident, Disney has been adamant about having state wildlife experts remove gators. Barriers were also set in place, along with signs warning of possible alligators around all beaches and waterways throughout the Walt Disney World property. This is why TikToker Tara was forced to get back onto the boat.

Disney has had several other incidents with alligators around the Parks. A 47-year-old man attacked by an alligator while he reportedly attempted to retrieve a frisbee. While Tara was not harmed while swimming in the water, we urge Guests to follow Disney World’s rules and procedures. Recently, Tara shared on Instagram photos of her during a blackout moment using the bathroom in the bushes at Disney World.

Tragedy on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Every year, millions of fans travel to Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort in hopes of having the vacation of their dreams. Fans save up thousands of dollars and plan for months, or even years, in advance for their Disney vacation. Visiting a Disney Park and Resort is not cheap, and for many fans, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Unfortunately, not every Disney trip ends in a “Happily Ever After.” Crises and mishaps happen in the Parks just the same as everywhere else.

Disney World Changes

Every Guest of Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort hopes that their vacation will be perfect. As much as packing, planning, and research can help, nothing can prepare you for what happens when tragedy strikes on your vacation.

Yesterday, May 17, 2023, an incident occurred on the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Walt Disney World. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a roller coaster that takes place in Frontierland, which is a part of Magic Kingdom. Visitors board a train car that is meant to evoke the feeling of riding on old mining equipment. The ride’s theme is inspired by the American West and the gold rush era.

Unfortunately, Guests waiting in line for the attraction were told to leave in order to make way for a stretcher.

Sadly, health crises happen in the Parks nearly every day. Things like heart attacks and strokes happen all the time, and unfortunately, they cannot be prevented by the Parks. Another common issue is Guests underestimated how physically strenuous the Parks can be. Walking for miles on end in the Florida or California heat is no joke.

In the case of this person on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, no explanation has been given. We can all wish the person affected well during this time.

In a viral TikTok, Guests spotted a child in a restricted area sliding down Disney property. This child climbed to the top of the Chesire Cat topiary– which is there to serve as a fun attraction to take photos with, not a climbing wall– and then went behind a fence and slid down it several times. Disney Guests at the fence can be seen taking photos and appear to be laughing at the child, while we are unsure if they are the guardians of this child.

This is very unsafe and Guests should not climb or be in a restricted area. This Guest could have been injured or worse, and Disney could ban this family for being in a restricted area.
