The new Dining Promo Card that Disney announced for 2023 has overjoyed fans. This promo card is a new and totally unique discount for Disney, and fans are happy to see them offering savings to their Guests. Unfortunately, the Dining Promo Card won’t last forever, and fans will need to act fast so they don’t miss out on the savings.
Disney foodies rejoiced at the news that a brand-new promo had been released. For Guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort this year between June 25 and September 25, big savings could be in store. The “Dining Promo Card” gives Guests up to $750 to spend on dining, depending on where they stay at the Disney Resort and when they visit.
So how does it work? When a Guest books a room between the allotted dates, they will be given the option to add on the Dining Promo Card. Once you check in to your hotel, an email will be sent to you with a barcode to present at restaurants. This barcode will act as a Disney Dining gift card and it is what will take money off of your bill at participating locations.
The promo only works for those making a reservation for non-discounted rooms staying at least 4 nights. The promo gives a limited amount of money that can be discounted per night on dining. This dining card gives Guests heavily discounted or free dining while staying at the Walt Disney World Resort. The amount you can spend ranges from $35-$150 per night, ranging if you stay in a Value Resort, Moderate Resort, or a Deluxe Resort.
While the dates that the Dining Promo Card can be used was already announced, we didn’t know until now how long you had to book the rooms. Disney announced today that you must book your room before March 27, 2023, to recieve the Dining plan. If you are planning to visit Walt Disney World Resort during the approved dates, you will want to book soon to make sure that you can get the opportunity to have free dining before it goes away.
Even though this promo is for a very limited time, fans are still rejoicing. This is the first Disney promo we have seen in a while, and hopefully, it will not be the last. Who knows, maybe they’ll even bring back the Disney Dining Plan!
Good Morning America visited Disney100: The Exhibition at The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia a few days ahead of its opening and shared a first look at the lifelike Walt Disney hologram that will greet guests.
Watch the video in our tweet embedded below or by clicking here.
According to the New York Times, “The Walt Disney Company used archival video and artificial intelligence tools to create a lifelike hologram of its founder — a full-size digital avatar that speaks in Walt’s voice and appears as part of interactive exhibitions of Disney artwork, props and costumes that will tour the globe until at least 2028.” The hologram will be located at the exhibit’s entrance.
Disney100: The Exhibition is set to tour museums around the world, with two exhibitions at any given time. The initial locations are set to be at The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia from February 18 through August 27, and in Munich from April 18. One exhibition will tour North America, with cities such as Chicago and Kansas City announced for future locations. The other installation will move to London after Munich, and then tour Europe and Asia thereafter through 2028.
Created for the 100-year celebration of The Walt Disney Company, the exhibition invites guests to step into their favorite stories using innovative and immersive technology throughout ten galleries in the 15,000-square-foot exhibit.
Disney fans who have attended any of the D23 Expos in Anaheim, California, or Destination D events at Walt Disney World are no strangers to the various exhibits from the Walt Disney Archives. However, for the Company’s 100th anniversary they are opening its vault of treasures. The ten galleries will showcase more than 250 of its “Crown Jewels,” rarely seen original artworks and artifacts, costumes and props, and other memorabilia.
“We have this incredible collection because we get first dibs off of every film that wraps and every attraction that is changed,” said Becky Cline, Director of the Walt Disney Archives.
“When we first conceived this exhibition we looked at the many ways of doing it,” said Cline. “Would it be a chronological approach … how are we going to tell this amazing story? We realize that everything that we do at The Walt Disney Company is based on the philosophies and dreams and practices of our founder Walt Disney. “
Cline then said that Walt always said the company was all started by a mouse and “while that was very true – in reality, it was also started by a man. A very, very special man. ” She went on to say that they decided to create an exhibit that illustrates Walt’s own ideas and his dreams and how we shared and followed in his footsteps ever since 1923, when the company was founded.
“This exhibition celebrates everything from 1923, when we first started, up to what’s coming up in the next year, stated Cline. “There are ten galleries in this exhibition and each one represents one of Walt’s philosophies.”
It’s Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse’s birthday! In honor of this special occasion, the Disneyland Resort is pleased to announce the official reopening date of Mickey’s Toontown in Disneyland Park – March 19, 2023!
It was this time last year that we first announced Mickey’s Toontown would undergo an ambitious reimagining, and reopen with some all-new experiences for families and young children to have more opportunities to play together inside Disneyland Park. At D23 Expo in September, we shared a bit more about the interactive play areas and how we are stepping into a new era of inclusive experiences in this land for families of all ages.
We are all excited to see just how Mickey’s Toontown will become a vibrant symphony of sights, sounds and sensations very soon. Here’s a look at some of what you can expect when the land reopens on March 19!
The reimagined Mickey’s Toontown will provide open, grassy play spaces for everyone to unwind, starting with CenTOONial Park, the first space guests will see when they enter the land. CenTOONial Park will be anchored by two new interactive play experiences; a beautiful fountain featuring water tables designed for play that invite guests to have a sensory experience, plus a nearby dreaming tree with sculpted tree roots providing an opportunity for children to crawl and explore.
Mickey’s Toontown will be home to the new attraction, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway! Inside the El CapiTOON Theater, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will put you in the wacky and unpredictable cartoon world of Mickey and Minnie, where Guests will board a train with Goofy as the engineer. One magical moment after the next leads you to a zany, out-of-control adventure filled with surprising twists and turns that the entire family will enjoy!
As you may have read, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will open on Jan. 27, when the Disney 100 Years of Wonder Celebration comes to life at Disneyland Resort!
Over in Goofy’s neck of the woods, Guests will find Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard, as shown in this new aerial rendering of the area.
Dedicated to all things play, Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard incorporates a whimsical sound garden where kids will discover new ways to make wacky noises, as well as enjoy an all-new, elevated clubhouse.
When Guests step inside Goofy’s House, they’ll find a fun, interactive candy-making contraption that only Goofy could imagine! The confectionary contraption begins high outside of Goofy’s home, as drips of honey fall from a beehive onto a chute that slides the colorful drops around and down into the home. From there, junior candymakers will help Goofy make the candy, and the silly sounds of household appliances will combine to make a truly Goofy symphony.
Donald’s Boat will be perched in the duck pond of the Goof homestead. Imagine larger-than-life spinning water lilies, balance beams and rocking toys at Donald’s Duck Pond that will help little ones get the wiggles out. Kids will definitely love making a splash in this space! Guests can also look into the boat through the portholes to witness bubbles of fun inside the flooded vessel and interact with some familiar ducklings including Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webby.
For those wanting to get a little ‘nutty,’ Guests can head over to Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster, where Mickey’s Toontown’s favorite tinkerer, Gadget Hackwrench, has created a one-of-a-kind, fun-sized coaster for the town’s tiniest citizens.
And at Mickey’s House and Minnie’s House, Guests will once again be able to step right into their homes and enjoy a self-guided tour as they discover special surprises in every room. They may even be able to visit with Mickey and Minnie while they’re there, should they be home!
Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin will also return, where Guests can board Lenny the Cab and spin through the streets and alleys of Toontown as they follow the adventures of Roger Rabbit.
And when Guests feel a snack attack coming on, they’ll be able to turn to two new places to appease their appetites in the land: Café Daisy, where acclaimed culinary expert, Daisy Duck, serves up diner classics at her sidewalk table eatery; and the Toontown Farmers Market at Good Boy! Grocers, a friendly roadside stand, offering grab and go drinks and treats.
Be sure to stay tuned to Disney Travel News for more information about the transformation of Mickey’s Toontown as we get closer to March 19. And in the meantime, please join us in wishing our beloved Mickey and Minnie a very happy birthday!
Sunday night, the entire country tuned in to watch the biggest football game of the year. Super Bowl Sunday means excellent football, a fantastic halftime show, and incredible new commercials. While the Kansas City Chiefs overtook the Philadelphia Eagles on the field, Disney was the bigger winner in another category.
New Disney100 Comercial Wows Fans
Last night during Super Bowl LVII, Disney unveiled a new commercial in honor of the 100th anniversary celebration of Walt Disney Animation Studios. The commercial is an incredible tribute to all of the unrivaled storytelling Disney has done for the past 100 years. The Disney Super Bowl ad features stunning music, a diverse selection of movie moments, and videos of Disney fans. It honors all eras of the Walt Disney Company, and it gives a special thank you to the fans who have helped Disney succeed for so many years. Disney shared some inspiring words about the video, saying the commercial is for, “the fans and storytellers who have sparked the joy and magic that is Disney over the last 100 years.”
The Disney100 commercial was absolutely a stand-out of the night. The stakes could not have been higher, as Super Bowl commercials are incredibly important for brands. Last night’s game expected a record-setting 115 million viewers. This was due to the incredible fanbase of both teams, as well as the highly anticipated halftime performance by singer Rihanna. The mind-blowing amount of viewers makes a Super Bowl advertisment an essential time for brands to meet a massive audience. A 30-second advertisement at the Super Bowl costs a company between $6 and $7 million dollars, so the stakes are high.
Luckily for Disney, their commercial was a hit. According to System1, a program that determines how effective an advertisement is based on emotional responses, the Disney100 Super Bowl ad was the best. System1 uses a scale of 1.0-5.9, and Disney earned a 5.3. This score puts them in the top 1% of ads scored by System1. This commercial was a massive promotion for the Disney theme parks and Walt Disney Animation Studios, so this accomplishment is enormous.
The commercial’s success is much-needed after a week where Disney has been getting some negative attention in the press. Between the mess happening with the Reedy Creek Bill and the news that Disney would be laying off 7,000 employees, Disney CEO Bob Iger needed a commercial that would help refocus Disney’s brand image in a more positive light. Luckily, this commercial did just that. Celebrations will continue for Disney as they welcome Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs to Disneyland Park for their Super Bowl Parade.
At the end of January, Disney announced that the new table service restaurant, Roundup Rodeo BBQ, opening in Toy Story Land, will open to guests on March 23, 2023. Until now, we didn’t know when reservations would open up for the restaurant. Thankfully, we now have a date.
Below, Disney also shared a behind-the-scenes look at the restaurant.
