Disney Gives Official First Look at New ‘Santa Clause’ Series!

Back in January, Disney announced that it would be creating a new Disney+ series based on its hit Christmas trilogy, The Santa Clause. The news itself was exciting, but then Disney shared that Tim Allen would be returning to reprise his role as Scott Calvin, AKA Santa Claus. Disney didn’t share a lot of details at first, but we later learned that Elizabeth Mitchell had also signed onto the series. Mitchell played Carol, the woman who would marry Scott in The Santa Clause 2 and become Mrs. Claus.

Disney has since revealed that the story will take place years after the original trilogy, with Santa looking to find someone to take his place, so he can retire and spend more time with his family. Now, as part of Disney’s Halfway to the Holidays celebration, Disney is releasing more details about the series and revealing the show’s official name — The Santa Clauses.

Disney Parks Blog shared more information on the series and a first-look photo:

In addition to the Calvin family, Kal Penn joins the cast of “The Santa Clauses” playing Simon Choski, a single father, ambitious game inventor and product developer whose visit to the North Pole makes a big impact on the direction of his life. He’s joined by Rupali Redd playing the role of Grace, his angelic daughter with a love for Santa and all things Christmas.

And where would Santa be without his elves? Devin Bright joins the cast as Noel, Santa’s trusted right-hand elf, along with Matilda Lawler as Betty, Santa’s demanding Chief of Staff and job-oriented Elf.

“The Santa Clauses” is set some time after the events of “The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause” and picks up with Scott Calvin on the brink of his 65th birthday. Realizing he can’t be Santa forever as he suddenly starts to lose his Santa magic, he sets out to find a suitable replacement Santa while preparing his family for a new adventure in a life south of the North Pole.

One really fun fact about this show is that Elizabeth Allen Dick will be playing Scott and Carol’s daughter, Grace. Allen Dick is actually Tim Allen’s real-life daughter! Disney has not told us an official Disney+ release date for the new series, but we expect it to be sometime this holiday season. Disney Dining will let readers know when the show has an air date.

Popular Chip and Dale Activity Returning July 6

It has been just about two years since the Walt Disney World Resort reopened after its forced pandemic closure, and the theme parks are nearly back to the way they were before the pandemic. Masks are no longer required, multiple dining buffets are back or coming back, and character meet and greets are back to normal. While many things have returned to Disney World, there are a number of things that Guests have anxiously been waiting on for years, and now, we can announce one of them is coming back very soon.

One of the more overlooked Resort hotels at Walt Disney World is Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. At Fort Wilderness, Guests can not only stay in their own RV if they want, but they can also book a gorgeous room that makes them feel like they are in the heart of frontier living. While it may not be considered one of the most popular Resorts for some Guests, it does have some of the most popular dining and activity spots on Disney property.

Fort Wilderness

Disney’s Fort Wilderness is home to both the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue and Chip ‘n Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long. Disney had shared a few weeks ago that the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue will return on June 23, but had remained quiet on the Chip ‘n Dale Sing-A-Long. Until now. Disney has finally revealed that the Campfire Sing-A-Long will return in less than two weeks, on July 6!

Hoop Dee Doo

If you are unfamiliar with Chip ‘n Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long, here is more information on the fun event from the Walt Disney World website:

S’More Fun

Campground Cinema

After the cowboy sing-along, cozy up for a classic Disney movie in a theater under the stars.

As night falls, the fun moves toward the giant screen, where cowpokes of all ages can delight in a favorite Disney movie shown in the fresh evening air. Bring camping chairs and blankets or sit on the benches provided.

The campfire sing-along and outdoor movie are complimentary and held nightly as weather permits. Movies and entertainment are subject to cancellation or change at any time and without notice.

Disney Cruise Line’s Newest Ship Arrives in Port Canaveral

The Disney Wish, Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, has arrived home! The Disney Wish arrived in Port Canaveral in Florida and is gearing up for its inaugural cruise in July.

From a Disney Cast Member;

I’m excited to share that our ship has come in! Just yesterday, the fifth and newest ship in our Disney Cruise Line fleet arrived at Port Canaveral in Florida after traveling nearly 4,768 nautical miles across the Atlantic Ocean from Bremerhaven, Germany.

This historic moment has been six years in the making, and included classic Disney-style fanfare, beloved characters and, of course, the iconic and fanciful “When You Wish Upon a Star” pouring from the ship’s horn as the Disney Wish sailed into port for the very first time.

Our incredible ship of wishes will immerse guests in Disney, Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar adventures in brand-new ways, and is filled with one-of-a-kind entertainment including AquaMouse — the first-ever Disney attraction at sea — all-new family dining experiences themed to “Frozen” and Marvel, and so much more.

I can’t believe that we’re getting so close to the debut of this enchanting new ship!

Be sure to tune in for the Disney Wish christening live at 11 a.m. ET on Wednesday, June 29 on the Disney Parks Blog or on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and TikTok.

The Disney Wish will sail year-round from Port Canaveral, offering a series of three- and four-night Bahamas cruises to Nassau and Disney’s private island oasis, Castaway Cay, beginning July 14. For more information or to book a Disney vacation at sea, visit disneycruise.com.
