Health and Safety Protocols for Upcoming Disney Magic Sailings

Guests booked on upcoming Disney Magic sailings between May 21 and Sept. 18, 2022 will be receiving SeaMails today detailing current health and safety protocols.

Currently, Disney Cruise Line continues to require all vaccine-eligible Guests to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the time of sailing, as defined by the CDC. This is a requirement for both U.S. and International Guests ages 5 and older.

Due to current vaccine eligibility, Guests from the UK with children ages 5 to 11 are unable to travel with Disney Cruise Line at this time. Guests booked on the Disney Magic between May 21 and Sept. 18, 2022 may modify their sail date or cancel their sailing without any Disney-imposed cancellation fees by May 4, 2022.

Cast Member Becomes Frustrated With Guest

Some Disney Guests are sharing their frustrations as they found others are being more and more disrespectful during certain shows and rides at Walt Disney World. Not only have Guests noticed others talking during shows at the Parks, but they use their cell phones on dark rides, which ruins the experience for others.

In a more recent incident, Guests repeatedly broke the rules at Carousel of Progress, resulting in the Disney Cast Member to become extremely aggravated.

Walt Disney and WED Enterprises teamed up and created what is now the longest-running stage show in American theater history. Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress was originally created as the prime feature of the General Electric Pavilion for the 1964 New York World’s Fair and currently resides in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort.

This attraction, created by Walt Disney himself, is a rotating theater audio-animatronic stage show attraction, currently located in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World Resort. The official description listed on the Walt Disney World website reads:

Travel through the 20th century and marvel at the evolution of technology during this classic Audio-Animatronics show.

Follow an American family over 4 generations of progress and watch technology transform their lives.

During each era, learn how the technological marvels of the day made life more comfortable—and paved the way for unimaginable innovations.

Discover how gas lamps, the hand-cranked washing machine and gramophone made the pre-electric era a breeze.

Watch the advent of electricity give rise to modern conveniences like the electric iron, the radio—and the simple, revolutionary light bulb.

See how the automatic dishwasher and television set transformed the American household.

On a recent visit to Carousel of Progress, a Disney Cast Member became noticeably aggravated as Guests were not listening and continuously breaking the rules.

In a video posted to TikTok, you can hear a Cast Member come over the loud speaker and say, with extreme emotion, “Ladies and gentleman, once again, this is for your safety, please remain seated! If anyone stands up, the theater can not continue. If Guests continue to exit the theater, this attraction cannot continue. Please remain fully seated and the carousel will rotate as soon as possible, thank you.”

Within a few seconds of his first announcement, he had to come back on the loud speaker and state, once again, “Once again, everyone, please sit down. If you exit the theater this show can not continue. Once again, please remain fully seated or else the attraction cannot continue motion. If you are standing in the theater, please sit down.”

Then, once again, within a few seconds, another Cast Member comes on the loud speaker and repeats this in spanish.

For a fourth time, a Cast Member had to come on the loud speaker and ask Guests to remain seated. This prompted other Guests to end up exiting the theater as it was clear that the ride would not be starting any time soon since the Guests were not listening.

You can watch the full video below.

Disney has rules and regulations in place for the safety of both the Guests and Cast Members. One of these rules include remaining seated with hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the ride vehicles at all times. Although Carousel of Progress is a theater, it is a rotating theater and is considering a moving attraction, meaning Guests must remain fully seated in order for the attraction to operate.

The Orlando Airport Is Getting a Major Upgrade

Via InsideTheMagic.net

If you’ve ever traveled through Orlando International Airport (MCO), you probably know that the baggage claim system is nothing to write home about.

Right now, travelers who are visiting Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando, and other Central Florida sites pick up their suitcases at the baggage carousel in a very typical fashion. This is about to change for those who come through MCO’s upcoming state-of-the-art Terminal C, however.

Orlando reporter Greg Angel recently shared a first look at Terminal C, which is nearing completion. Angel specifically shared details about a baggage system upgrade that will make things easier for all vacationers, including Disney World Guests who make their way through the new terminal.

The journalist shared a photo of a press release that reads:

Orlando International Airport’s South Terminal Complex (STC) creates an unforgettable travel experience. Through a combination of passenger-centered designs and state-of-the-art technology systems and enhancements, the STC is built to improve efficiency, uphold passenger safety, and excite the imagination. The first LEED*v4 airport campus, the complex will make MCO — already a world-class, global gateway to the most-visited destination in the U.S. — also one of the most innovative airports in the nation. The new terminal features dozens of technology systems that both support the building and its functionality, while expediting the passenger process.

n a later Tweet, Angel noted that MCO CEO Kevin Thibault shared that the pet-friendly terminal will accommodate 10 to 12 million passengers per year upon opening, but may eventually be expanded to accommodate upwards of 60 million passengers annually.

This new phase of travel at Orlando International Airport is a major perk for Disney World Guests and other theme park fans. It is worth noting that MCO already offers a variety of perks, including its very own “FastPass” system that allows travelers to skip the line in certain situations.

Gilbert Gottfried Dies, ‘Aladdin’ Star was 67

Sad news coming out of Hollywood today. Actor and comedian Gilbert Gottfried has died at the age of 67 after battling a long illness. Known for his signature voice and over-the-top comedy, Gilbert Gottfried was a comedic legend. Through his more than 50 years in the entertainment industry, Gottfried had more than 180 acting credits to his name. He is probably most well-known to Disney fans for lending his voice talents to Iago — the diabolical sidekick of Jafar in Disney’s 1992 film, Aladdin.

Gottfried’s family shared news of the actor’s passing on his official Twitter account.

Gottfried began working in the comedy world when he was just 15 years old. His talent landed him a short stint on the iconic sketch show, Saturday Night Live. It was on SNL where Gottfried would meet fellow comedian Eddie Murphy. Murphy would later help land Gottfried his big break in the movie business, casting him in Murphy’s Beverly Hills Cop II.

From there, Gottfried’s career skyrocketed. He appeared in a number of classic films and television shows, including Night Court, Problem Child, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, and Mad About You. In 1992, he voiced one of Disney’s most well-known sidekicks, Iago. He returned to voice Iago in 1994 for Aladdin 2: The Return of Jafar and a third time in 1996 for Aladdin and the King of Thieves. Gottfried also voiced Iago for the Aladdin television series, as well as a number of video games based on the film franchise and Disney On Ice.

Gottfried is survived by his wife Dara, his 14-year-old daughter Lily, 12-year-old son Max, sister Karen, and his nephew, Graham.

‘National Treasure’ Star To Return For Disney+ Series

Disney is currently hard at work on a new series for Disney+ based on the 2004 film, National Treasure, and its follow-up 2007 film, National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets. Disney announced the series back in March 2021 — and they also shared that they wanted to be able to finally make the third film in the franchise that fans had been expecting. At the time the series was announced, no casting information was given, but we have since learned that Lisette Alexis will star as Jess Morales and Catherine Zeta-Jones will star as Billie.

It is also now being revealed that the National Treasure series will star one of the film’s original actors. Justin Bartha played Riley Poole — a computer expert — in both films. We can confirm that Bartha has signed on to officially reprise his role as Poole in the new show. Disney had stated that they wanted the show to be an expansion of the franchise, so Bartha’s character will be the definitive link between the two.

National Treasure

The new National Treasure series will focus on 20-year-old DREAMer Jess Morales, who sets off on an incredible journey to discover the secrets of her family’s history and uncover a legendary lost treasure. In addition to Bartha, Alexis, and Zeta-Jones, the series will also star Lyndon Smith as Agent Ross, Armando Riesco as Agent Hendricks, and Tommy Savas as Dr. Zeke Hudson.

National Treasure

The Disney series is currently filming in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It is being produced by legendary producer Jerry Bruckheimer — who also produced the first two National Treasure films. Bruckheimer has also confirmed that is he one of the producers of the third National Treasure film, which has only been announced at this time. Rick Muirragui will serve as both a writer and an executive producer. Cormac and Marianne Wibberley — who were the writers on the first two films — are also returning to write the series and executive produce.

National Treasure

Disney has not announced a Disney+ premiere date for the new National Treasure series, but it is expected to premiere sometime in 2023. At this time, we do not know if Bartha, or costars Nicolas Cage or Diane Kruger, will also be returning for the third National Treasure movie.
