Robin Williams Warned Disney Child Star

Companies like Disney are known for a ton of great family-friendly content, and the 90s were a great time for that content. During that time, Disney gave us animated classics like Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Aladdin, and Mulan. They also came out with a number of incredible live-actions films, including The Mighty Ducks trilogy, Heavyweights, and Homeward Bound. Other studios came out with some classics like The Sandlot, Little Giants, Hook, and the classic Mrs. Doubtfire.

Mrs. Doubtfire told the story of a married couple going through a divorce. In order to see his children, the father — Daniel Hillard — dresses up as a woman, so he can care for them. The film starred the late Robin Williams as Mrs. Doubtfire and Sally Field as Miranda Hillard, and Pierce Brosnan as Stu. The couple had three children, who were portrayed by Lisa Jakub, Mara Wilson, and Matthew Lawrence.

Boy Meets World

Matthew Lawrence started his career young and appeared in a number of Disney films and television shows alongside his brothers Joey and Andrew. Matthew was in the Disney movies Horse Sense and Jumping Ship. He was also a major part of the popular Disney Channel show Boy Meets WorldLawrence, along with his older brother Joey, were loved by 90s girls around the world.

Although the movies and shows he was in had their fair share of happy endings, we all know that real life is not as cut and dry. Lawrence recently spoke about an important life lesson that was bestowed on him by none other than Robin Williams on the Mrs. Doubtfire set. Lawrence played Williams’s son Chris Hillard. Williams died in 2014 due to suicide caused by his struggle with Lewy Body Dementia.

Lawrence revealed that Williams had told him that, under no circumstances, should the young actor ever engage in drug use. Per People:

During his appearance at the first-ever ’90s Con on Saturday, Lawrence opened up about the lessons he took away during their experience shooting the 1993 film.

“He was the first adult who really let me in on his condition. Like, full-on let me in,” the 42-year-old said. “I mean, as bright as he was on camera — I would go visit him in his trailer to talk to him — it was painful for him. It’s really painful for him. He didn’t hide it. He talked to me about it.”

“‘Don’t ever do drugs. Especially cocaine,’” Lawrence recalled Williams saying. “He was very serious. He was like, ‘You know when you come to my trailer and you see me like that?’ He’s like, ‘That’s the reason why. And now I’m fighting for the rest of my life because I spent 10 years doing something very stupid every day. Do not do it.’ I stayed away from it because of him.”

Lawrence has been incredibly active in Hollywood for decades — having appeared in four films just last year. He also has another film in production. Lawrence’s brothers Andrew and Joey also remain active and have appeared in a number of films and television shows.

Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show WILL NOT Return

When dining at Walt Disney World Resort, there is something for everyone. From a quick snack to full-on sit-downs and buffets and nearly 400 places to eat, food experiences loom large at The Most Magical Place on Earth. However, when the Parks were forced to shut down due to the pandemic, Disney decided to take a hard look at its dining experiences and has made the decision that not all of them will return.

We have just learned that The Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at Disney’s Polynesian Resort will not be opening back up. The show had been unavailable to Guests since the Parks reopened last summer. At this time, Disney has not announced if a new show will take its place or if they will no longer offer any type of dinner show. The Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show had been a part of the Resort since Walt Disney World opened in 1971. Guests loved being a part of a traditional Hawaiian luau that brought them straight to the islands.

Spirit of Aloha

While The Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show will no longer be a dining option for Guests visiting Polynesian Village, there are still a number of other delicious spots to enjoy. ‘Ohana is a great sit-down restaurant that is open daily for breakfast and dinner. Kona Café is another great dining option at the deluxe resort. Kona Café is open daily for breakfast lunch and dinner and features a number of signature dishes like Tonga Toast, Pineapple Macadamia Pancakes, and Kona-Braised Short Rib.

Judge orders protection Of photos taken in Bob Saget’s death investigation

A judge has permanently blocked local authorities from releasing any photos or videos taken of Bob Saget’s body and his personal effects following his untimely passing.

This morning, Circuit Judge Vincent Chiu ruled on an injunction that would stop the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the District Nine Medical Examiner’s Office from releasing photos and videos related to Bob Saget’s death case and autopsy. Per the judge’s ruling during a virtual hearing in the lawsuit filed by Saget’s wife and children, local entities will be prohibited from making these items available to the public, according to The Orlando Sentinel.

The family filed suit to block authorities from releasing photos and videos of Saget following his death on January 9 at the Ritz Carlton Orlando Grande Lake Hotel.

Saget was found deceased in his hotel room on January 9 after family members were unable to contact him. Medical Examiner Joshua Stephany performed an autopsy on January 10 and released his report of findings in February.

His death was ruled an accident, though his injuries were severe. Head trauma was listed as the cause of death.

These findings were ultimately met with more questions by neurologists around the country, as well as Saget’s heartbroken fans, who wanted to know how Saget’s extensive injuries, including multiple skull fractures, could have been the result of a mere “backward fall.” Some even took to social media to post about the possibility of foul play.

The attorney for Saget’s family, Brian Bieber, told the judge that he had met with local authorities and that they had come to an agreement about the disclosure of certain photos and video. According to Bieber, Orange County Sheriff’s Officers took 147 photos during their death investigation. Ninety of those, which include images of Saget’s body and his personal effects will be confidential, while the other 57 photos of the hotel room will not receive any protection.

“I want to commend everybody involved here because this could have been very messy,” Judge Chiu said after his ruling. “I think what we’ve done here, what the parties have done here, is strike a very delicate and necessary balance.”
