Catalina Eddie’s Set to Reopen at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Catalina Eddie’s, a quick-service restaurant at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, has yet to reopen after the 2020 shutdown, but it appears that is about to change.

According to the Walt Disney World website, the restaurant will be open this Sunday, August 1, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. This is the first we’ve heard of them coming back in many months, and we’re glad they’re returning now for the end of the summer.

New Logo Revealed for The Muppets Studio

“It’s time to play the music; it’s time to light the lights.” It’s time to debut the logo for The Muppet Studio tonight! (Well, today, but that didn’t work with the song.) The Muppets took to Twitter to show off a shiny new logo. Let’s take a look!

The Muppets Studio has gone through several logos over the years, but we didn’t feel that the current logo really represented who we are as a studio today and the direction we’re headed. Now that we have projects that originated fully from our team, we felt it was the right time to make the change to represent who we are now. This has been in the works for quite some time, and we’re so excited to get it out into the world,” Muppets Studio Vice President Leigh Slaughter said in an interview with ToughPigs, a Muppets fansite.

Watch the reveal video below.

Slaughter also confirmed that the logo may change, similarly to how the castle logo for Disney films changes. “As you know, our next project – which I’m very excited about and cannot wait for you to see – is “Muppets Haunted Mansion.” You’ll see the new logo attached to that special is a customized way that evokes the spirit of that particular project.”

The new logo will be used on new Muppets projects, with Muppets Haunted Mansion coming to Disney+ this fall.

Bob Gurr Featured in Upcoming 20/20 Special

Legendary Imagineer Bob Gurr posted on Instagram that he is filming interviews with 20/20 for an upcoming special on Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary.https://www.instagram.com/p/CR7ybfsnoSS/

Bob Gurr is a Disney Legend and Imagineer who was hired by Walt Disney to work with WED Enterprises back in 1954. He has designed Autopia cars, the Monorail, Matterhorn Bobsleds, the Omnimover ride system used in The Haunted Mansion and so much more. His handprint is left in nearly everything that moves, in one way or another, at a Disney park. As such, he will be a wealth of knowledge on not only the last 50 years of Walt Disney World, but the workings of Imagineering and the creation process in general.

No other details were made available, but it can be assumed that the special will likely air around the date of the 50th anniversary, October 1, on ABC. Check back with WDWNT for more details as they are announced.
