Auditions Are Open for Casey’s Corner Pianist

Disney announced the return of several Disney fan favorite entertainment experiences next month including Wonderful World of Animation, Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage, Turtle Talk with Crush, and Monster, Inc. Laugh Floor. But – it seems like Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor isn’t the only Magic Kingdom entertainment returning soon!

What’s better than strolling down Magic Kingdom’s Main Street USA with a hot dog from Casey’s Corner in your hand? How about listening to some ragtime tunes while you’re at it. That’s right – since Casey’s Corner reopened recently, it now looks like the very popular Casey’s Corner Pianist is making a return soon enough at Magic Kingdom. While the live entertainment is still listed as “temporarily unavailable“, Disney is holding auditions for the position.

As shared via DisneyCareers: Disney Live Entertainment is seeking experienced Pianist for Casey’s Corner; performed outdoors at the Magic Kingdom near Orlando, FL. This audition is to cast ONE Full-Time Musician as well as identify Sub Performers.

DESCRIPTION: As you walk down Main Street U.S.A., a fanciful surprise awaits—a live outdoor piano performance.  Featuring swell ragtime tunes from a bygone era, these syncopated stylings will have you tapping your toes. When folks start to gather around, don’t be surprised if they start to croon along. Between ditties, this proficient pianist may entertain you with one-liners and zingers. This ivory tickler is a real hoot!

Daisy Duck “Disney Fab 50” Statue Previewed

Disney has announced yet another “Disney Fab 50” statue coming for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. Character artist Fabiola Garza, who created the cover art for “A Portrait of Walt Disney World: 50 Years of the Most Magical Place on Earth,” announced that Daisy Duck is coming to the Magic Kingdom.

Disney used the Disney Books Instagram account to make the announcement.

Daisy will join other “Disney Fab 50” statues at the Magic Kingdom such as Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and Lumiere and Cogsworth.

In addition to announcing the Daisy statue, Garza also mentioned that her cover illustration reveals the statues coming to the Hub.

A closer look shows Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip ‘n’ Dale, Daisy, and Donald. The “Disney Fab 50” statues surround the “Partners” statue that is currently undergoing refurbishment. The 50th Anniversary medallion, which debuted today, is also visible in the illustration. “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” begins October 1, 2021.

Golden 50th Anniversary Medallion Installed on Cinderella Castle

Cinderella Castle has received yet another exciting update in the Magic Kingdom in preparation for the resort’s 50th anniversary in October. Walt Disney World President Jeff Vahle shared on Instagram that a golden 50th medallion has been added overnight!

The medallion rests in the spot where the clock is normally featured. It boasts a beautiful EARidescent color with golden “50” numbers in the center.

Disney Cruise Line to Resume Cruises from Florida On Disney Dream August 9

It’s official: In just a few weeks, the Disney Dream will kick off the long-awaited return to cruising from the U.S. on August 9. Voyages will include tropical trips to the Bahamas departing from Port Canaveral, Florida. Three- and four-night cruises will visit the private island, Castaway Cay, for an unforgettable vacation at sea.

Cast Members have been working hard to get ready for this return, and their focus remains on operating in a responsible way while creating magic for all on board. Guests can find enhanced health and safety measures to promote wellness for all aboard the ships and in the destinations.

As always, the ships are overflowing with magic—from beloved character encounters to enchanting Broadway-style musicals and a spectacular fireworks display at sea. Disney Cruise Line has also come up with new and exciting ways to create memories together—tailored to the times and presented with all the care guests have come to expect from Disney Cruise Line.

Disney To Open New Store at Orlando International Airport

Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary is all it seems like anyone can talk about these days! While it’s going to be a magical celebration launching on October 1 within the Walt Disney World bubble, Disney has decided to carry the excitement beyond the “bubble”. This fall, guests traveling via Orlando International Airport will have a chance to experience a new Disney shop AND special 50th Anniversary décor while at the airport!

As shared by Disney: “With so much excitement ahead, we want you to feel immersed in the magic as soon as you arrive in Central Florida, which is why a talented group of cast members is hard at work transforming the arrival experience at Orlando International Airport (MCO) with the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA). Coming just in time for the 50th anniversary celebration this fall, airport passengers will discover many exciting Disney touches, including a wide-spanning art installation in the terminal train stations featuring favorite Disney characters, new magic engaging passengers as they walk through a glistening glow of projected EARidescent light patterns, and an immersive photo opportunity with a re-creation of a Disney ride vehicle to capture special memories as they make their way through the airport. As part of this special transformation at the airport, we’re excited to also be working with GOAA on a new Magic of Disney store location opening with the South Terminal Complex in 2022.”

We are just over 70 days away from “The World’s Most Magical Celebration”. This 50th Anniversary celebration is going to be one to remember. Kicking off on October 1, and lasting a full 18-months, we simply can’t wait for all the excitement!
