Ahead of the official premiere of Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” movie starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt on July 30, Disney Springs has added a new photo op area near the AMC Dine-In Theatre.
The area includes a large backdrop featuring the story’s main characters Lily Houghton and Skipper Frank Wolff adventuring their way on a boat, as well as a smaller movie poster to the right.
In front of the characters you can also find a cut-out of the film’s logo and premiere date that are placed at the tip of the boat. Guests can stand behind this in their photos to appear as if they are exploring with the main characters.
Imagineer Zach Riddley has taken to Instagram once again to share a behind the scenes look at the ongoing construction in the new World Celebration neighborhood, including the Creations Shop.
A photo behind the construction walls offers a close-up look at the ongoing construction that we’ve been following.
In another photo, Riddley shows off the CommuniCore-style skylights with multicolored lighting.
Riddley also shared a peek at the new World Celebration popcorn kiosk.
Earlier this year, we reported that 200 more Disney Vacation Club Villas are coming to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa in 2022. A permit filed for “general construction” at the resort is the first indication that work is set to begin.
The entire Big Pine Key building will be transformed, turning its standard rooms into resort studios that sleep up to five guests. These rooms will be closer to many amenities than the current Disney Vacation Club Villas.
DVCNews.com reports that the company that filed the permit, New Horizon Construction Services, has previously worked on Disney Vacation Club property refurbishments, including Disney’s Vero Beach Resort.
After several delays due to COVID-19, it looks like Cirque Du Soleil’s new “Drawn to Life” show may finally be able to debut at Disney Springs this fall. The building was recently undergoing refurbishment, and now Cirque Du Soleil is hiring a sales coordinator for the location.
