With Disney College Program finally returning, participants will be able to live in brand-new housing, and will have the option to live in gender-neutral housing.
The Disney Programs website has a page dedicated to gender-neutral housing. With this option, residents of multiple genders may live in one apartment, instead of each unit being split up by gender.
Participants can request gender-neutral housing when completing their DORMS registration. Nobody will be placed in gender-neutral housing if they do not select the option and the option is available in all apartment types. If participants have selected a roommate link, they will be assigned a room together.
Droid Depot in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has a new backpack and matching smartphone case. The backpack is reminiscent of Droid Depot’s original grey and rose gold bag, but is dark blue and gold.

The smartphone case has BB-8 and D-O on the front, outlined in gold and silver. It has a gold detachable wrist strap.
In yesterday’s Orange County Government Coronavirus Update Livestream, Mayor Jerry Demmings announced that the county has nearly reached the 50% vaccination rate threshold. When 50% of Orange County residents age 16 and older have received the COVID-19 vaccine, the current mask mandate will be lifted when outdoors.
Both Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort are located within Orange County.
It’s important to note that both resorts are private property and enforce their own policies. The removal of the mask mandate does not mean masks won’t be required at the parks. We’ll have to wait and hear from the resorts about any policy changes.
Both Disney and Universal recently began removing temperature check stations at their Florida locations.
The Wave… of American Flavors at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is scheduled for refurbishment this summer. While Disney has yet to release in depth details about the refurbishment, we do know they are working on the space “in time for the 50th anniversary”.
As shared by Disney: “The Wave… of American Flavors at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will be unavailable this summer as we refurbish this space in time for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort. Reservations will be available through July 15.”
The Disney rumor mill and speculations are hard at work with this refurbishment. Much of the speculations suggest Disney could make this a character dining restaurant with characters from The Incredibles. While we would absolutely love that, there is no confirmation from Disney.
