Tour a Renovated Room at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort

Via wdwnt.com

Join us for a tour of a renovated room at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, which finally reopened on March 22nd after a year-long closure. The resort rooms comfortably sleep four adults and now have a much more efficient design that allows for more space all around.

The renovated All-Star Movies rooms now feature a queen-size bed as well as a pull-down Murphy bed. The old carpet has been ripped up and wooden laminate floors take its place.

Like most Disney resort hotels these days, the colorful quilts that were once on the beds are now replaced with white comforters and sheets that brighten up the entire room. The picture that hangs above the bed includes Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, and Donald Duck in the new animation style as seen in Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction.

The headboard behind the Murphy bed has a fun picture of Huey, Dewey, and Louie dreaming about playing soccer, premiering in their own movie, and performing at a concert. The scene matches the three All-Star Resorts- Sports, Movies, and Music.

Baseballs, vinyl records, and film wheels symbolize each of the All-Star Resorts. This may mean the end of uniquely themed rooms across the three resorts.

A floating nightstand sits on either side of the Murphy bed. No longer outfitted with drawers, a shelf takes its place. USB outlets are conveniently placed so guests can charge all of their electrical devices. A corded house phone is still available in every room as well.

Disney With More Details About Disneyland’s Transformation

We previously shared the news that Disney has announced plans to transform much of Disneyland over a multiyear project named “DisneylandForward”. Disney has now released their own information and website with all the details. Check out the details as shared below by DisneyParksBlog.

On March 25, the Disneyland Resort filed an application with the city of Anaheim to begin the process of updating our existing development approvals to start to lay the groundwork for future development and expansion in the decades to follow. These updated approvals will allow for future flexibility and the opportunity for more integrated experiences to be built and located throughout Disneyland Resort properties.

Although the Disneyland Resort currently has the development approvals to build additional theme park attractions, hotel rooms, entertainment, retail, dining, shopping and parking, our existing development approvals severely limit the ways in which we can expand and locate offerings.

That is why we are launching DisneylandForward, a multi-year public planning effort with the city of Anaheim to update development approvals that meet the current and future demand in entertainment. With these updated approvals, Disneyland Resort will continue to be an industry leader in bringing first-of-a-kind offerings to Anaheim, which in turn will create thousands of new jobs and help support Anaheim’s funding for important services such as fire, police and public schools.

While there are no specific plans to share at this time, the possibilities for the future are nearly endless. Other Disney theme parks around the world are introducing new magic like Zootopia, currently under construction at Shanghai Disneyland, and Tangled- and Frozen-themed lands at Tokyo DisneySea. With more flexibility in planning, projects like these could serve as inspiration as Disney Imagineers dream up what’s possible for the Disneyland Resort.

It is important to know that Disneyland Resort is not seeking any public funding in this effort and is not seeking to develop any additional square footage or hotel rooms beyond what is already allowed. We will be working with the city and community to update existing approvals to allow for future integrated, immersive experiences to be appropriately placed and built throughout Disney properties.

If you would like to learn more about exciting plans for the future of the Disneyland Resort, please visit DisneylandForward.com.

Disney CEO Says Disney Guests Are Happier Now Than Before The Pandemic

Bob Chapek, Disney CEO, says that Walt Disney World guests are happier now at parks than they were before the pandemic struck.

Are reported by OrlandoSentinel: Disney CEO Bob Chapek made some bold statements. People are happier at Disney World parks now — during a time when visitors must wear masks and can’t get the full experience — than before the pandemic, the company’s leader said.

“Our guest satisfaction scores since we’ve reopened across the world have shown that, indeed, our guests are even more satisfied than they were prior to the pandemic,” Chapek said during March 17 interview with Bloomberg.

“Our teams here have been hard at work, making sure that when we reemerge, that we’re going to do so in a way that’s actually going to improve the guest experience even versus a pre-pandemic situation,” Chapek said in a recent interview focused on Disneyland’s reopening next month.

With limited capacity, social distancing, security and technology improvements, Mobile Ordering ease, no concern over snagging FastPasses, cleanliness, and Disney’s hard work at making the experience as magical as possible with character sightings and special cavalcades… it seems like many guests are enjoying the current Walt Disney World experience.
