If you’ve visited Magic Kingdom before, chances are your nose found its way to Main Street Confectionery. This tasty shop is the perfect old-fashioned candy shop with delightful treats such as character-inspired candy apples and Mickey krispie treats. Well, if you’re visiting in the near future, you’ll want to take note that a lengthy refurbishment is on the way!
As noted on the Walt Disney World refurbishment calendar, Main Street Confectionery is scheduled to close on March 29, 2021. Currently, the refurbishment calendar is listed as under refurbishment through May 22, 2021.
Keep in mind, Disney has been known to extend or shorten refurbishments based on how detailed the refurbishment is.
If you have plans to visit Walt Disney World next week, we sure do hope you have Park Pass Reservations! If not, you likely won’t be able to enter any of the four Walt Disney World parks, unless Disney decides to open up more Park Pass availability.
Currently, the Park Pass calendar is showing no parks available March 13 – March 19 for all three tiers of ticket holders including Theme Park Ticket Guests, Resort Guests, and Annual Passholders. First up, Theme Park Ticket Guests has noted “no parks available” for March 13 – 19 as shown in the screen shot below:
Next, you’ll see Disney Resort Guests also has “no parks available” for March 13 – 19:
Last but not least, Annual Passholders have “no parks available” March 13 – 19, but the capacity for Annual Passholders also carries through to March 20:
Hopefully you have your Park Pass Reservations already secured! As previously shared, the Disney CEO has confirmed park capacity will remain at 35% with rise depending on COVID-19 vaccination rate. That said, FastPasses have yet to return which means you can plan for lengthy waits despite the 35% capacity. The lines do keep moving however, just be sure to tackle your must-do attractions first!
The wait is almost over! Disney has announced the opening date of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure the new family-friendly attraction coming to the newly expanded France pavilion. Originally scheduled to open in summer 2020, the opening was delayed due to the global pandemic that closed Walt Disney World for over four months in 2020.
From a Disney Cast Member;
Everyone’s favorite “Little Chef” is cooking up something really big for Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th anniversary, because the grand opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT is set for October 1 of this year!
That date may sound familiar, as it will also mark exactly 50 years since Walt Disney World officially opened for the first time. So Chef Remy will help us kick off “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” in Parisian style.
In this delicious new attraction, you’ll feel like you’ve shrunk to the size of Chef Remy as you scurry through Gusteau’s famous restaurant on a wild adventure for the whole family (no height requirement!). Based on Disney and Pixar’s Academy Award-winning “Ratatouille,” the experience will be part of a newly expanded France pavilion inside EPCOT that will also open October 1.
When you round the corner into this new portion of the pavilion, you’ll be transported into a fanciful version of Paris that feels straight out of the animated film. As you can see in this beautiful nighttime photo we’re sharing today, it’s easy to understand why little Remy fell so head-over-heels in love with the “city of lights.”
And oh wait … there’s more! Also opening October 1 will be La Crêperie de Paris, a new restaurant offering both table- and quick-service options. The menu will feature sweet crepes, savory buckwheat galettes (naturally gluten friendly) and authentic French hard cider. The attraction, restaurant and pavilion expansion are all part of the historic transformation of EPCOT currently underway, celebrating how the impossible becomes possible through the power of imagination … and a little Disney magic. This amazing time in the park’s history has already brought us a reimagined main entrance with new entrance fountain, “The Soul of Jazz” exhibit and new films in three different pavilions, with much more on the way.
We’re looking forward to Remy joining us for “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” an 18-month event that will feature new experiences at the four Walt Disney World theme parks and beyond, where shimmering EARidescent décor will appear as if by magic.

Exciting news from Disney today! While we previously announced theme parks can once again reopen in California beginning April 1, we were unsure of what timeframe Disneyland was aiming to reopen. We now know Disneyland has a reopening target for late April!
The following was reported by Disney Parks New Twitter: “Here in California, we’re encouraged by the positive trends we’re seeing and we’re hopeful they’ll continue to improve and we’ll be able to reopen our Parks to guests with limited capacity by late April — we look forward to publicizing an opening date in the coming weeks. While last week’s announcement stated that theme parks may open starting on April 1, the fact is that it will take some time to get them ready for our guests – this includes recalling more than 10,000 furloughed Cast and retraining them to be able to operate according to the State of California’s new requirements. I am pleased to say the response has been great thus far, our Cast Members are excited to get back to work. And this is also good news for the Anaheim community, which depends on Disneyland for jobs and business generated visitors.”
