New Bus Design Unveiled

Just this weekend, we were dazzled by the arrival of two new buses to the Disney Transport fleet, featuring Dumbo, as well as Rocket and Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy. Now, we’ve been graced with a new addition to the new Disney movie bus wrap series: Simba and Zazu from The Lion King!

we have Simba leaping across the side of the bus, with Pride Rock in the background and Zazu flying just ahead of him. The grassy stalks peeking out from the bottom are a great touch, too. Actually, all of the colors on this bus, much like the animation from the film, are magnificent. If you’re curious about the other side of the bus, much like the other movie bus wraps, it features more or less the same design.

This bus marks the 9th addition to the Disney Transport bus fleet, with six new wraps featuring classic Disney characters as “Sensational Six” and now three new movie-themed wraps.

DIsney’s Hilton Head Island Resort to Close for Hurricane Dorian

Central Florida and Walt Disney World Resort might have been spared from Hurricane Dorian, but it appears Disney Vacation Club’s sleepy outpost in South Carolina is now hunkering down for the storm and closing ahead of any potential damage or further landfall.

Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort is located on the picturesque coast of South Carolina, only 5 hours from Walt Disney World Resort. This elegant, relaxing home-away-from-home—fashioned after a 1940s hunting and fishing lodge—combines local charm and simple pleasures with outdoor fun for the entire family. The resort features multi-roomed villas and many recreational activities, including 12 miles of heavenly beaches.

The resort closed on Monday ahead of projected weather due to Hurricane Dorian, but with the storm currently affecting the area, it appears the resort remains closed for the time being.

Hurricane Dorian is currently skirting the South Carolina coast en route to North Carolina.

As of yesterday afternoon and as the weather has improved in Central Florida, Walt Disney World Resort has returned to normal operating hours.

All Walt Disney Resort Hotels remained open yesterday except for Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, which will reopen today.

Orlando International Airport

Orlando International Airport resumed commercial operations yesterday at noon as well.
